Eastman Recreation offers women's and coed volleyball leagues and an annual open tournament.

Open tournament

The 2027 Eastman Open Volleyball Tournament will be held in January. More information to come. The tournament will be held at area school gyms. 

Women's Division (Seniors and Open) , Men's Division and Co-ed Division (A, BB)  teams must consist of six players (Co-ed must have three men and three women).

The top teams in each division will win an award.

Join a league

Practices for the 2026-27 Volleyball league will begin September 21, call for scheduling. League play will begin October 26. Games will be held at V.O. Dobbins Community Center, and Temple Baptist on Thursdays if needed. 

Registration deadline is October 16. Entry fee is $120 per team. The league is open to the public at an additional $5 fee for non-Eastman Recreation  members. One member of each team must be an ERC member.

All players under 18 must have a legal guardian sign. Please submit the form to the ERC office along with appropriate fees. Forms may be emailed to recreation@eastman.com or brought to the ERC office. The captain's meeting will be held at the Employee Center Oct. 19 at 5:30 pm.

Rules

All league and open tournament players must adhere to these rules.

  • Players must be at least 14 years old. Exceptions may be made for 13-year-olds who are playing on the same team as a parent.
  • Three games are played in a match.
  • Scoring method is rally score to 21 points (must win by two points with a cap at 25).
  • Each game of the match is limited to 13 minutes.
  • Each team gets one time-out per game.
  • You may play with four players (coed games may play with no more than two men in this scenario).
    • Coed: If playing with five or six players, a max of three men are allowed on the court.
    • Coed: For every three hits, one must be by a woman.
    • Coed: Two men can take it over in two hits.
  • A serve that hits the net and crosses into play is allowed.
  • Foot digs are allowed.
  • The ceiling is in play if it hits on your side.
  • Substitutions and rotating in are allowed (middle back).
  • A coin flip will decide who serves or receives (alternate serves for the next two games).
  • A player cannot change teams once he/she has played with their original team.
  • Everyone playing on the team must be on the roster. Teams are not allowed to pick up subs from other teams.
  • USVBA rules will apply.
